Une autre vidéo humoristique du pianiste et chef d’orchestre Victor Borge.
he is just about the ONLY man appropriate for conducting a piece called « Dance of the Comedians »
Check out my Silent Hill Homecoming version of this? It´s awesome 😉
man, I would have LOVED to have met him or played with him!!!!
It took him nearly 3 minutes to START the song XD
We could use another one of him…and George Carlin.
@showjumper5280 he walks off… 5 sec. later *BANG* violin Chair 2 moves over… and at the end he is walking out with a Violin with a broken neck. this is Eugenius, a true comedic masterpiece.
He’s like the classical version of Spike Jones.
Love love love it! This man is a legend!
i wish all conductors were like this
just great, adds a bit of humanity to this often very still format, he could be a great inspiration to young people in the schools..
18 people in this world with no sense of humor and no appreciation for the genius that was Victor Borge.
i wonder what it would be like if an orchestra just played a piece from the music without a conductor?
he can get a new violin at a thrift store or a used music store
Experienced musicians would have a good idea of how fast the tempos indicated need to be played, though some variance between individual tempos is expected. It’s possible they’d listen to the other musicians and adjust accordingly. If the piece has a fermata, though, I could see that resulting in chaos.

4:55 is one of my favorite moments in all comedy history.
I was in the orchestra in school and we went on tour to small towns and performed for smaller school’s. We would play scores from Disney movies and other cartoons. Wayne’s World had come out, everyone knew Bohemian Rhapsody, kids loved that one. Anyhow, our finale was a jazz/rock number called Trumpets With Attitude. Our conductor would count out 1-2-3-4 (to give us our tempo), and then step away and let us play on our own. It sounds great and got a big reaction!
Victor is very sadly missed…
oh concertmaster hahahha
I thought I had seen all of Victor Borge’s performances, but missed this hilarious gem. Thanks for posting it!
Where is the « I LOVE » button? What a genious! RIP
@DavisHanscom What happened? All I heard was a « BANG »
@einstienear thats what she said
